Join us for a community-wide Prevention Summit focused on engaging the whole community in the critical task of helping the youth of the Lakes Area stay healthy and drug & alcohol free. We will be serving Famous Dave's BBQ for lunch. You won't want to miss this event!

About the Event
Because it “takes a village”to help our young people thrive and avoid substance misuse, our target is to have 125 youth and adult leaders from the Lakes Area attend the October 19 Prevention Summit from all sectors and stakeholder groups including: schools/education, the business community, government/elected officials, law enforcement/first responders/the judicial system, faith groups, mental health, healthcare, parents and youth.
The Purpose of this Engaging Community-Wide Prevention Summit for the Lakes Area:
1. Learn the facts about how youth in the Lakes Area are using alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs, and the changing perceptions our youth and parents have about those substances.
2. See the angle from which each sector in the Lakes Area views the problem of youth substance misuse and identify the set of skills each sector has to address it.
3. Network with fellow Lakes Area youth and adult leaders and experts to develop and implement an array of prevention strategies for youth.
4. Engage and leverage our resources to help our youth!
